GCSE Results 2017

In a year of huge national turbulence and the tragic loss of a teacher and a student in their year group, Streetly students have shown great resilience to enjoy some impressive results. With 63% of students achieving passes in Maths and English, and particularly improved performance at the top end in many subjects, Headteacher Billy Downie said “This has been a tough year for so many of our students and staff, but I am delighted that so many of them have enjoyed the success they deserve putting them in a great position for the future. Staff, students, and parents have pulled together to make this possible, and I applaud them all for their determination in the face of adversity.”

There were some stunning performances from particular students with Sarah Lampitt achieving 6 A*s, 1 A and 9s in Maths and English Language. Similarly, Elliot Mellor returned an impressive 5 A*s, 1 A, and 9s in Maths and English Literature. Other impressive performances included Jade Crutchley with 2 A*s, 4 As, and a 7, 8, & 9; Bethany Hergenhahn with 3 A*s, 2 8s, 3 As and a 7; Sanjana Kang-Mullen with 9s in English and English Literature, 3 A*s, 2As, one 7 and a B; Ben Murray with 5 A*s, 1 A, and a 6, 7, and 8; Olivia Smith with 2 A*s, one 9, one 8, one 7, 2 As and one B; Ellen Aliazi-Binns with 1 A*, 3 As, three 7s, and one B; Katy Templeton with 3 A*s, one Distinction*, two 8s, 3 As, and one 7; Samuel West with one 9, 5 A*s, one Distinction*, 2 As and a 7; Sophie Yates with 4 A*s, two 8s, one 7, 1 A, and a B.
